Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson...

So I open up my email and I got a 'wink' on Match.com from a 34 yr old woman with 2 kids. What's up with that?

KC:

is it the 34 part or the 2 kids part? if it was just the 34 part would you still consider?

and what if you were 34 and she was 29?

The divorced and 2 kids are both non-starters. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do 34 either. At some point I want to have kids, but 34 would require that to happen way too soon.

It sucks to have double standards, but for biological reasons, the opposite age difference doesn't have the same issues.

Of course, I'm also not 29 yet. =)

Joy:

Well I hate to come down on you, but there is nothing wrong with divorced women.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with them. They're just not for me, at this point in time.

Amber:

Not all divorced women are the same. Are you afraid divorced women are more likely to want a relationship involving kids on a faster timeline than you're comfortable with?

Joy:

No kidding, I'm curious what the source of it is. It's relatively closed-minded to assume no divorced woman in the world is for you. Sure there are stereotypes about them - they can't hold a relationship together, maybe they want a rushed timeline, maybe they can't commit, surely they screwed up a relationship and hurt someone, etc...but I'm pretty sure they are not all the same.

SB:

At least you're not 23 anymore... Remember, nobody likes you when you're 23... :)

John:

First time poster, long time reader.

I saw this incredibly hot woman walking down the street and I was thinking. Man, I would really love tap a piece of that. Then I silently thought to myself. Somewhere, out there in the big blue world, there is some guy who is sick of her shit.

That's all I have to say about that.

BTW, I'm not ignoring this. I plan on addressing this in it's own post. I've just been distracted over the past couple weeks.
