Ever since I saw Underworld last fall, I couldn't stop saying, The fetching Kate Beckinsale. I don't know why.
Yesterday, I picked up Everyday Italian. The editorial review starts with: "With its cover image of the fetching de Laurentiis wearing a low-cut top and its promise of easy, tasty Italian recipes, this cookbook is sure to draw in home cooks who don't know how to make a basic marinara sauce and want to be introduced them to the beauty and simplicity of Italian cuisine..."
I guess I'm not the only one that likes the word fetching.
WAIT! There's a point to this:
What those who are lured in by the good looks and charm ... an unsophisticated but decent selection... her recipes are generally minimalist (there are no recipes for homemade pastas or stews that take a day to make) ... this is a rather flat first effort.
I don't know what the reviewer is smoking, but the whole point of this book is simple "everyday" dishes. Who the hell has the time for homemade pasta or day-long stew, every day?
