Anyone that has ever worked with me, knows that I like to listen to tunes while working. My FLAC player ran out of batteries yesterday, and I forgot to charge it. It was the perfect excuse to rationalize some new media.
At lunch, I ran off to Best Buy in search of Hot Fuss from The Killers. Despite the fact that I had saw it at BestBuy.com for $11.99, it was at the store for $13.99. I usually just say, "screw it, I'm here. I might as well buy it", but something about this really ticked me off. I'm not sure if it was the price difference or the fact that it was a CD for $14. I was already there, but my time was a sunk cost. I wasn't getting it back either way. So I said screw it and went to get some food.
When I got back to my office, I discovered that it's supposed to be available on SACD, so I felt vindicated. That is, until I couldn't find the SACD anywhere. Meh.
At least I have my principles, and will stand up to the RIAA, without stealing content.
Then again, maybe I'm just cheap.
