There are holes in the soles and the laces are tattered...

It doesn't really, doesn't really matter
'Cause these are the shows I like best
These are the shows I like best

Tue night, I spent about an hour trying on different pairs of bball shoes at Academy. I tried on one pair that seemed to fit pretty well, but I thought they were kinda ugly. I then tried about 3 more pairs of Nikes, 1 Addidas, and 1 And 1. None of them really felt right. So I ended up back on the first pair I tried. Bleh. At least they were about 1/10th the price of the last two pairs of shoes that I bought. Go clearance sales at Academy!

For the curious, they're the Nike Air Flight Hops in white / varsity maize-midnight navy. Gotta scroll to the right on Nike.com. Second from the right, on the bottom. This is about the 4th of 5th pair of shoes that just happened to have Michigan colors. I really wish they weren't shiny though. Maybe they'll grow on me. If not, I've always got another pair of CONS in my closet that are about 10 years old. =) This pair hasn't seen as much action as the old ones though, and would likely hold up to some beating...

All you have to do is call my name...

And I'll be there on the next train...

I really miss Buffy and Angel. There was a certain comfort in having a few TV shows to religiously watch. The entertainment value of the show itself, topic of conversation with friends, etc. I was pretty much free of TV for a while, but there's been a crop of great new shows. I've been waiting for Nip/Tuck for a while. Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy both ended with me wanting more from the upcoming season. It's a good thing that I haven't found any more TV shows. I can't handle more than three at a time. Yep, three is the absolute limit. No more than three. Good thing the Tiger and The Italian Chick didn't get me sucked into any other shows. OK, all done with this post.

EDIT (06/09/2005): Fixed

I've got the power...

Errf. Stupid TypeKey wasn't working. After fiddling with it for about 10 minutes, I got it to work by disabling it, then re-enabling it with the exact same settings. Enjoy your newly found unfettered access.

Cause no one no not no one, likes to be let down...

*sigh*

A long time ago, I was sitting across from Bob, comparing notes on our "career goals" that we had compiled in these Excel spreadsheets. This was clearly something that people with satisfying jobs wouldn't be doing on a weekend. We were sitting at his kitchen table when he asked me if our standards were too high. His query was whether we were setting ourselves up for disappointment. I've always felt that lowering standards solely to allow others to succeed is a poor way to live. While I've never changed my standards, Bob was correct about disappointment. That whole thing about shooting for the moon and ending up among the stars doesn't usually work out that way*.

It's hard to control how we're wired. I love the fact that I can get such intense pleasure from simple things like opening a new CD, feeling the wind through my hair, or being greeted by the world's best puppy. I hate the fact that I expect so much from everyone and everything around me.

Expecting 20 cars to actually race seemed pretty damn reasonable to me.

Oh well. At least the pit babes were cute:

Come on, get up, Let me see your bruises

Initial prognosis is a torn ligament in my ankle. =(

*whine*

Probably going to require surgery if I want to ski or play tennis, racquetball or basketball. I'm not happy.
